Led by Jonny "Bushick" Patrizio on guitar and vocals; Bushicks is a Power Trio, featuring NYC music veteran, John Adamski (formerly of Shilpa Ray and Julius C) on drums and the very talented Jessica Bogwicz on the bass. The sound has been called "raw" and "nostalgic" by many and spans from Classic to Modern Rock, with a focus on songwriting and energy in their live performances. Bushicks played their first show on January 8th, 2016 at The (now defunct) Basement Bar in Bushwick. Since then, they have played such notable NYC venues as: Brooklyn Bowl, The Knitting Factory, American Beauty (now defunct), The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, and Don Pedro's (now defunct); in addition to many others. They have also shared the stage with the likes of: Strange Machines, Electric Love Machine, The B.R.Y.A.C. Funk All-Stars (Ft. Members of Kung Fu and Deep Banana Blackout), Van Gordon Martin (Organically Good Trio, Bernie Worrell, Spiritual Rez), Space Bacon, Teddy Midnight, Cousin Earth, The Other Brothers, Ampevene, and The Phryg.
What's in a name?
"Bushick" was a nickname born of Jonny being from Upstate NY (Albany) and his friends joking that he was a "Hick," living in Brooklyn...which later morphed into "Bushick." It was only natural that he'd be joined by John (Rochester, NY) and Jess (Syracuse, NY).
